For it's namesake, guinsang-an for most Visayan dialects is a shortened word for "gin- sangahan"  that means "crossroads." Truly, this place is a crossroad leading to the Northern and Southern parts of the province. It is the gateway to Antique when you come from Iloilo province in the East. A lush nature and winding zig-zag road would take you around an hour going downslope. And when you finally reach Antique, you are greeted by a warm atmosphere of a peaceful and tranquil barangay, Guinsang-an.

 

Taking the south route would lead you to the  towns of Dao and Anini-y. The northern route would take you to the rest of the towns of the province.
