Note: After starting the program for the first time you are presented with a wizard. Keep clicking the Next icon till the last widow. In the last window press the button that says start using the program

In the first screen press the button

The progam start searching for problems

At the bottom of the program you can see the progress ( )

The program has found three products ( ) on my system that it thinks are spe / ad wares.

As you can see Download Accelerator is also in the list ( this program has been selected as it shows ads while working online ).

I want this product to stay due to which I have unchecked it

The other two are spywares and should be removed

Press the button

In the Confirmation window press Yes button

Press Ok

Selecting programs to be removed from future searches

Open Mode > Advanced mode

Press Yes for the warning that appears ( )

Three buttons will appear at the bottom of the left pane

Click the Settings button

Click on the Ignore products ( ) button in the list

Check the names of the softwares installed on your system that you dont want Spybot S&D to search for problems

Controlling the programs that start at system startup

Open Mode > Advanced mode

Press Yes for the warning that appears ( )

Three buttons will appear at the bottom of the left pane

Click the Tools button

Click on System Startup ( )in the left pane

Uncheck the programs that you dont want to start at startup

Preventing some cookies from removal

Note: Follow these steps if you want to remove cookies/uaage tracks

Open Mode > Advanced mode

Press Yes for the warning that appears ( )

Three buttons will appear at the bottom of the left pane

Click the Settings button

Click on File Sets in the left pane

In the right pane check the options Usage Tracking and Tracks.uti The last two sets

Click on the Ignore cookies ( ) button in left pane

Check the cookies that are from the sites that you trust and visit regularly

Note: Do not select the cookies listings in red. The must be removed

Note: In the cookie list the name after the @ mark is the name of your site/server

Specifying specific directories

Open Mode > Advanced mode

Press Yes for the warning that appears ( )

Three buttons will appear at the bottom of the left pane

Click the Settings button

Click on Directories in the left pane

Right click in the right pane

Select the option 'Add a directory to this list'

Browse to the directory

Press Ok

Note: Place/download all your downloaded stuff in the these directories

Updating

Connect to the internet

Start Spubot S&D

Press the update ( ) button in the left pane

In the Update pane press the button

Update progress window will appear ( )

Select the updates that you want to install. If not sure select them all.

Press the button

The downloading of the selected updates will begin ( )

Registry changes during installing and uninstalling programs

Spybot checks every entry that is made in your OS's registry.

During installing or uninstalling a program you might get the following message

If the program is a trusted one then click the Allow change button

If installing a program from a company/developer that you are not sure of press the Deny change
