Introduction
Battlestar Galactica -- the original and only version for me -- was the first sci-fi series I've ever seen (well, save from the hilarious German series The Phantastic Adventures of the Spaceship Orion which doesn't really count). It made an even greater impact on me first than Star Trek (for a while anyway). Therefore I refuse to accept both the stupid and crappy Galactica 1980 series and the new one made in 2003. Had they made something like TNG was to Star Trek, I'd have been ecstatic. But twisting my belowed characters out of what they used to be and turning their entire universe into something different is a crime I can never forgive.
About The Lost Years series
Basically, this is an Original Galactica/Original Trek crossover series, taking place in the Star Trek universe, timely between the end of the Original Series and the first movie (TMP). The individual episodes are based on rejected story ideas to either the Original Series or to Star Trek II, a series with the original crew, planned but never realized by Gene Roddenberry himself.
It is posted here because of the Galactica part of it, and because I don't have any purely Galactica fics so far.

THE STORY ARCS
The Lost
Years series has seven different story arcs, although there are all

01 New Beginnings (aka

Summary: The refitting of the Enterprise is finished, and they launch to the second five-year-mission, this time with some Galactica officers aboard, as part of the exchange program. Their first mission: to find out why the planet Thimsel has cut all connections to the rest of the Federation.

Summary: The Enterprise is sent to evacuate a colony of Dairu (insectoids from Kaferia) from a planet that would soon be flooded by deadly radiation. For some reason, though, the bugs aren't willing to leave. Lt. Decker has to face his first independent mission, and it's not an easy one.

Summary: The Enterprise is called to a planet where a colony of the so-called Great Ones, a long-dead species of incredible technological knowledge, has been dug out. Strange things are happening at the digging site, and the archeologists are in grave danger.
Note: this episode happens parallel to The Sins of the Mothers, with Decker's away team still on the insectoid planet.

Summary: The Enterprise is called to Minerva (Starbase 11), to transport
Marouk AlFaisal and his fellow convicts to the prison planet Magna II, also
known as Limbo. Unfortunately, simple milk runs are somehow never really simple
for them.
This is a direct sequel to Episode 01: The Joy Machine and features the Starfleet Intelligence unit known from the Original Series story Mission to Daleth IV.

Summary: Looking for a lost convoy of medicine transport, the Enterprise gets caught in a Sargasso starfield. This story features Joanna, the daughter of Dr. McCoy, and reunites the hardcore Original Trek fans with some characters of the first pilot, The Cage.

Unbeknowst to anyone, the ambassador is carrying a deadly virus that could kill the entire crew, while himself immune to its effects. Can Dr. Chapel, who has developed a very close relationship with the ambassador, find a cure in time?

28 The Vulcanis

Summary: Inspired by the TOS-novel The Killing Game. We finally learn what the Vulcanis expedition was (mentioned in the episode Court-Martial). For that, however, we have to visit an alternate reality. But at least we are reunited with Gary Mitchell, Dr. Dehner, Lee Kelso and other Enterprise crewmembers who got killed along the way.
